Nobody told you that thats a great year...Old enough for people to say what the hell is that.... Anyway love watching this one. Four eyes are cool especially first year...This is the first year??
Ye I think 79 are the first.
Down the line I feel like it'd be fun to go all in on the v6, like heads, cam, supercharger, push 400hp, all just for the sake of not going for a v8![]()
) that had a feature car that was a blown 2.8 Mustang II. I don't remember much about it anymore, but I do recall it being red. I'll have to see if I can work some Google-fu and locate it.
80$ for a brand new carb
To hell with a rebuild! How is it so cheap?
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the rear window wiper was only a feature on cars sold in Canada or otherwise exported.
I was thinking that too (local law thing) but I haven't seen the smoking gun. I've also seen it suggested that:
1. Had to be on a car that was [ordered].
2. Was a dealer option available from Ford.
Hey! Look at the rear wiper everybody!
Probably one of the rarest options on a Fox body. LoL
The wiper thing feels like quite the discovery xD I'm guessing there's no production numbers for an option like this?
On a side note: Somebody else can correct this if I'm wrong:
I think the car has been painted before. I [think] the louvers behind the rear window cam from the factory, black.
Ford put that two barrel carb, in various versions, on a butt load of motors from early 60's to 80's.80$ for a brand new carb

HA! That thing is rad! It's giving me ideas...That didn't take long....
I know it's not the original magazine, but since they're all pretty well conglomerated (as far as I know....), this is probably the original article.

Out of curiosity, how much would that sort of swap cost?Just me but if you find issues with the 2.8 and the trans then you will be time and money ahead to just swap the k-member and put a v-8 with a 4R70W in it and move on.
I will say that that is one of the best examples of a 79 I have seen in years.

Nah unfortunately not :/Nice to see another 1979 hatch show up. I concur with the comments about the wiper, sail panels, and rims. Tires would be crazy expensive. C4 transmissions are super simple. Are you lucky enough to have a hatch release button in the glove compartment? Only works with the ignition turned to on.

Yeaaaah, US V8s are pretty expensive around here.I guess that would depend on availability in France.
Here in the states, without having done anything like this in years, I'd say it could range from maybe a few hundred dollars if you found and bought a suitable donor car, to a few thousand if you had to locate everything individually. Of course, that all depends on what kind of shape everything is in too.
