New to the 4.6 world. Could use some advice.

Guys, I'm usually over on the 5.0 boards, but my father has been wanting a Mustang his whole life. Well he's going to look at a 2002 GT for $6500 this weekend, and asked me to come along to crawl underneath it for him. The car is an automatic with approx. 92,000 miles on it with a cold air...

Change C&L to PRO-M. Will I need new tune?

Guys, I'm thinking of swapping out my C&L mass air meter for a Pro-M tuned for 24lb. I've got a custom tune on the car. Will I need to get it re-dyno'd, or should it be a direct swap. Also should I notice any difference with the Pro-M. I've heard maybe a little better idle, and a better...

    Cranks too long when hot??

I've got a problem that got me stumped. When I start the car up in the morning in cranks for about 2 seconds and starts right up. When I drive it around and it gets up to temperature 180*, and I come to a stop, turn it off, let it sit for a few minutes. Then try to start it again most of the...

Running at 185* with 160 thermostat?

Need a little help guys. It's about 100* here today in MD, and I just installed a 160 Mr. Gasket thermostat. I had a 180 in, and it ran around 180-185 all day so I thought I'd try a 160. I like things to run a little cooler, but even with the 160 in it the temp still goes to 180-185. When...

Have some hot chocolate looking oil in my air oil seperator?

Noticed this after I took it for a bit of a long ride after it sitting most of the winter. I also noticed a little in the oil filler tube in the valve cover. Could this just be from condesation from sitting so long, and only being started occasionally for a few minutes at a time just to keep...

    Question about vac leak.

This may be a dumb question, and if so my appologies. The pcv valve grommet on the back of the intake is pretty worn, and the valve fits in it loosely. Could this be a possible vacuum leak? I ordered a new one yesterday. Just wondering if anyone found this to be the case in the past...

Question about adding 2nd PCV. Please help.

I've posted a couple threads about my son and I adding a second PCV to the system. Some how the PCV valves are sucking up oil, because when I start it up it smokes a lot out of the tailpipes. We installed a home made baffle under the PCV valve we just added to the valve cover (I wish I had...

Update from previous thread, we installed the second PCV valve in the drivers side valve cover at first with no baffle. Started it up today, and it blew a bunch of smoke out the back. Where to get the thick valve cover gaskets.

Does anyone know where to get the thick valve cover gaskets. I've checked Jegs, Summit, and 50Resto. I want to put in a second PCV on the drivers side valve cover, and just want to make sure the PCV does hit the roller rockers. Thanks to anyone that can help. Joe

Quick question about the Trick Flow intake.

On the drivers side of the intake there is a T-fitting with the hose from the PCV, and a big "J" looking hose that goes to the under side of the intake. My "J" looking hose has some cracks in it. Can I just remove the hose and plug the ports, or do I need to have that hose on there? Thanks...

    Tough to start when hot.

I've been searching the threads about this to solve my issue, but thought I'd throw it out there again. Sorry for the repetition. The car starts up quick first try when it's all cooled down (first start of the day), but if I shut it off after it's up to temperature 180* it will crank for 10-15...

Which trans fluid to use in my 5-speed?

I bought a Super HD T-5 from Summit last summer which says Tremec on the body of it, and there was a tag on it that said "this transmission must be filled with ATF". I filled it with ATF synthetic Castrol. It seems to be ok, and shifts good though a little noisy at times. The reason I'm...

    Header gasket question

What kind of header gaskets are you guys using? My wife and I went for a ride this morning, and we heard a sound like something flapping in the air i.e. an exhaust leak. I tightened the H-pipe bolts, and the header which bolts which on the drivers side were very loose. I thought that would do...
