In general, see what I did there, I'm with you on being a purest. Thing is I'm not aware of any of these cars being the subject of a swap. However, the Lima 2.3 can have a lot of potential if done right. They really didn't get a lot of love. If @95steedamustang could get his grubby little mits on one of these motors it would be epic!

Maybe @SorsCode could help? A lot of money for a turbo four banger Ford, but it would be unique and worthy of a stable in what is already a mind blowingly amazing collection of rare ponies.
Appreciate the kind words. It would be cool

Im not sure I can get there but I do really like the SVO cars. They are very unique and have a lot of speciality parts and features. I dont think any mustang collection is complete without at least one. They are a fun lightweight car that done right can be a really cool car
Not expecting you too, the Fox body was something I liked, but liked the SN95 (94-98) more.

The SVO I have that I'm going to 2.3 Ecoboost swap eventually (I have the engine) currently has a Volvo headed 2.3L with custom header and bigger turbo. Built the car for 1/4 mile, but I'm now wanting to turn it back into a cruiser with good fuel mileage.

did a 93 lx, with a svo 2.3L

fun car but the head wheezes, and limits you to about 250hp at 20 psi on the stock head (with a GOOD intercooler and some increased fuel pressure). Beyond that you're gonna spend some money. But they can make some steam. 350-400 ain't too much of a stretch but streetability suffers. Once you get to "that" point (250 whp +/-) you have to make decisions. The head is done. The vam is done. The injectors are done. So you're gonna go standalone, which requires injectors, ported head, and honestly I'd probably ditch the stock rods and heavy pistons. Almost the same cost to go V8 at that point because 2.3L stuff is real expensive for just 4 of everything.

I wanted to keep fox body coupe "looks" but with a "different" powerplant, so I stuck wtih a modded 2.3L,1995 V6 5 speed (stronger), 3.73, and then focused on the handling and interior. Took a few years, but it was clean, fun, and fetched a lot more money than I would have ever imagined. Some guy at the gas station made me an offer on it which I turned down, then went & bought another car and called the guy back and said come get it.

I'd like to do one with an ecoboost but those things are not cheap. Of course nothing is cheap anymore.

All good info. I will
Probably got with a 2.3 T ecoboost. I have one that I only have a few hundred bucks in that I can build. But not 100% yet. But since I have one. Seems like a good idea

This is 8 hours, 3 quarts of primer and a ton of metal work, block work and tears. Worst factory hood Ive ever done

Since I have a ton of projects working right now, instead of scattering the SVO for paint and metal work…my focus is on obtaining or restoring the rare parts that make the car unique. The first pieces are the Hurst shift boot, hurst shift knob, SVO horn pad and leather steering wheel.
The car came with all these parts. The shift knob was actually pretty good. Just worn on top. Luckily, I found a NOS knob and grabbed it. The horn pad and shift boot assembly was pretty good so I just had to freshen them up.
My orginial pieces

But very fun to watch someone else do it now!
I’m cheating though. although I didn’t buy rare SVO parts back in the day I did buy a warehouse full of other rare Mustang Parts and Saleen Parts back in the day so you just go to the warehouse and grab whatever piece of gold you want and theres your SVO parts

My SVO had 5 out of the 6 lighs there. The pass corner was busted. I found a used but yellowed corner light for a good deal and picked it up hoping I could restore it. This is after 400/600/800 and cleared
FA851262-A4C4-4626-8AC2-A0A65EE995ED.jpeg

I then removed the rest of the lights from
The car and restored them all seperately.

At least I have all 6 now in useable condition.
But my goal is to increase the light inventory significantly. This is only a start
