02 MUSTANG V6 DUAL EXHAUST

I Have duals on my mustang v6. Stock air intake. Every now and then while im driving my duals sound deep rich and have a nice low bassey tone. The other 95% of the time they sound faint, quiet and like theirs not even duals on the car.

Can anyone help me with this one??


Also just a question for some of you, would you waste time with a CAI on a v6 or would you just stick a K & N in the stock air box and be done with it??
Not sure what to do here?

What kind of mufflers did you use? If you want more volume, remove the cats or go with high flow cats.

Forget the CAI and just add in a K&N.

If you REALLY want volume, go with an O/R x or H pipe. That's what I did. Sounds good up to about 3200 RPM, then the V6 sound really kicks in, kind of ricey, but not too bad.

On the question of the CAI I had one but didn't like the sound of it. It sounds like an air leak to me so I took it off and put in a K & N filter and removed the air silencer from the box.
