Oh boy! Did I ever get a good Christmas present today! I spend over an hour crusin around in an 02 SVT Focus! It was my first SVT car! :) Anyway, for anyone who might be interested in it, it's at Bennett Dunlop Ford here in Regina and they are asking $16900 for it. It's a really fun car and I'd totally trade my Focus in on it but I'd rather spend money on the Mustang. I'll post more about the drive itself later.

Aww Rats!!! I was going to buy that car but now that you drove the crap out of it I'll have to keep looking :(

:jester: :rlaugh:
Sounds like a nice little car, what color is it?

You got it Russ. It's a great little unit, if any of you guys do end up going to look at it talk to Curtis and tell him Graham sent ya! :)

Anyway, the car handles great and it's pretty quick. I had her going pretty good on the highway. The interior is super nice, it has the red cloth inserts and then leather around the edges of the seats. The stereo rocks too! Like at least as good as the Mach 460. I kinda wish I could have been driving the stang and then drive the Focus so I had a better comparison. The clutch felt great to, it was like a million times better than the clutch in my Focus. It felt very similar in pedal effort to the GT. There was no big vibrations or anything felt like a very solid car.

All in all two thumbs up!

First off it's a 4 cyl without a blower or turbo or anything. So you can't hate on it for being slower, I've read MM&FF articles where they put a blower on a SVT Focus and it was awesome. And plus it's SVT so stop hating!! :)

The SVT focus is an incredible machine. Anyone hat has driven one (in the summer) knows this. The fit finish attention to all the little details is incredible and the body kit is tasteful and understated typical svt. The rims are really nice and the tires hold like nothing i've ever come across EVER. the thing handles like a lotus and stops like it has retro rockets it's insane. When I drove it with the factory tires with myself and xplict in the car it was just nuts the harder you ht the brakes the harder it stopped period. The tires never chirped once even when I jammed on the brakes at 100 mph fully expecting the ABS to go nuts it didn't it just severe stopping power. It has 12.5" brakes in the front and 11" in the rear I believe and it weighs 2500 lbs so it's stops NOW. The only thing the srt has on the svt is hp other than that it is just a neon with a sport brake and handling package. And a huge gaudy body kit and massive spoiler... That being said I would buy one in a heart beat (srt that is) just because it's crazy fast and looks like a ton of fun... It just isn't anywhere near as nice a car as the svt nor could it ever hope to be. At least in my opinion.
