I'm calling broken STi. Most of your mods are cosmetic and the few you do have are simple intake, exhaust and tuning mods. Not enough to handle an STi IMO.

it is def possible to take out those stis with a close to stock gt like i said in my last post i raced one when i had just a catback and he was stock and we stayed pretty close the whole way until he hit 3rd then he pulled a quick car and then we shut down. That was from a 5mph roll. I agree though that from a stop ur gonna have to make up a lot of track to catch up to them but from a roll that awd just sux the power right outta them. They trap about 101 to 102 which isnt too hard for a bolt on gt to do.

The 06s+ trap 100-102 but an older one wont. Ive raced a few 06 and older STIs with and with out mods and after the launch they are not that fast. Plus you have to know how to launch them and 99.9% of the people that own them do not. Dont get me wrong there not slow by any means but they arent as fast as people say they are.
How many cars do you know that can run low 13s with a trap speed of only 100-102? They get a great 60ft thats it. Hell I ran 13.9s at 100mph before the blower.

they really arent as fast as people think its just like the evo. Bolt on gts can easily walk away from an evo those cars can only get the holeshot and thats about it. Yes they are nice cars and they are quick indeed. Its all about getting the power to the ground. And they can do that better than us. Im sure if they made a 4wd mustang gt it would run easy low 13s stock.

i wasnt talking about the original poster i was responding to teamford saying her can stay next to 06 STi's. i dont think the ordinary wrx's are very fast but have no first hand experience.

I call b.s on the person who said they beat an 06 sti. I race my friends 04 sti plenty of times and he will take me from a roll or a dig and hes stock. Hes the reason I'm saving up for a forged short block and kb.

However my other friend with a stock wrx wagon I put a few bus lengths on from a dig ahha, ahh that was worth it.

well i got him from a stop... passed him at about 80mph... and then from a roll i walked him slowly... i expected more from a modded wrx

its my best friends car so i get to drive it as well... fun car to drive i might add

just to clear things up... its an 02 WRX non-STi... 5 speed...

my roommate has had an 02 wrx stock for almost a year and my best friend just bought this modded one... so im confused as to why the modded one was not much faster than the stock one... ive raced both and beat both... but i beat both in the same fashion almost... either they dont respond well to mods or the BOV was hurting the car?! thoughts?

I would say both reasons. The only reason Id buy a car like that would be for a winter car.

How did you get him off the line and pass him at 80mph in the same race?
