03 cobra x-pipe???

You don't lose torque big time. You might lose a tad bit in the LOW rpm over stock, but you gain a ton over stock in the mid-high RPM, so it's worth it.

Besides...you have an '03 Cobra with an underrated 390 pound feet....what the hell are you worried about torque for, or the lack thereof.

I know of 1 person over on SVTP that said they lost TQ bigtime & only gained 2 HP when he added a catted X pipe to his aftermarket catback. He took it back off. I'm gonna see if I like the sound of mine with just a catback before I put on a catted X.

A O/R X might be a different story.

I wish we could get more attention on this subject - I am sure I am not the only one that has this question :) I think if there is too little back preasure then you will run too lean... therefore a tune up is needed, hence the diablo chip... this is only what I have been reading. I just wish we could find someone with experience on this so we can all learn, IMHO :)

I don't see how you could lose anything with the no cat system. I just ordered the magnaflow cat back system for now. When I save up a few dollars more I'm gonna get the no cat pipe. Since my car is just a weekend toy I figure why not !! The louder the better !!

Well, I am going to go to the local tune shop and get it dyno'd when I get the pipe put on, already knowing the baseline... we will get this question answered :)

Good thing is with the bassani pipe, I can add cats later if they are needed. They included middle pipes that can be swapped out for cats. I get the pipe installed tomorrow - I can't wait to hear it!

no difference in HP without cats ???

"I don't know if that holds true on the 03 Cobra's" ..but...

I was just thumbing through 5.0 last night and read the article on Bassani's new performance cats.. They ran dyno numbers on stock, perf cat and NO cats on a vortech late model modular (king of street winner from last month) the car had 500+ HP at start...

If I remember what I read last night, the NO cats dyno numbers were an average of an additional 5-9 hp over the performance cats at different RPMS with the mid range RPMS being the largest gains I think..

I'd take those gains all day long..

well...30 min and my bassani x-pipe is on... very loud...i like it :)
however...it is a bit raspy with loud pops... i guess this is mostly due to my 2chbr flows... i hear straight thrus like borlas get rid of the loud pops and make the x sound better? true?
