04 gt vs. supra

alright this kid keeps saying he wants to race me now with his 80s supra. I have never seen his car nobody has so i doubt he has one lol. I told him i only race my bike now i put the stang down for a bit we had a race setup to race bike vs. bike and he backed out once he talked to my buddies and realized how much racing experience ive got under my belt on a bike.

alright now teh question is do you guys think i should race him he talks a lot of crap and wants to put money on it. He claims he is getting a new turbo for it but i dont know its a stock motor though he says its a 1jz-gte motor. now if you guys give me the go to race him im buying a set of rims and then a set of mickeys to go around them so i can launch harder. and i might get a 100 shot just to be safe.

anybody think its worth it. oh and this is going to take place on an 1/8th mile track.

oh and just to let yall know he is a horrible driver put it this way he was running 9s at the 1/8th with a full exhausted chipped and intake sti he cant even launch awd

well one day this summer ill get that stuff for the car. I have just been occupied with the bike i am getting pretty big into drag racing it. I just will never stretch it cause i still like doing track days and stuff like that. I have bought some spray for the bike and all so ill pretty much see whats up with nitrous before i spray the car. should be good to put my bike in teh mid 6 region at around 110.

oh and that borla sticker helped like crazy probably best mod to date.

oh and yes i pretty much am looking for excuses lol i almost bought a kb a couple days ago but then said na ill wait on that and thats when i bought the nitrous for the bike lol. I remember when i first bought the bike i said it would be fast enough stock i would never mod it but dang im addicted to this speed stuff.

80's supras are cheap, i wouldnt doubt he has one. however them being as mod friendly as theyre early-mid 90's counterparts, i dont know. im sure with more boost and support they are capible beasts, but i doubt they can handle what the 2jz can handle.

he said 450hp is it that it can handle. but i dont really know cause this kid really doesnt know crap about cars he says he knows more than me but he cant even tell me what an maf is. He doesnt do his on mods of anything he takes it in to get everything done. i know he use to have a supra like that but then got rid of it cause he blew the tranny lol. now he says its the same one. He lies like no tomorrow like how he told me he had an r1 than ran 9.2s at 154 lol and he has never been on a bike a day in his life.

but i am not really interested on racing him but he just bugs the crap out of me and talks lots of smack and all i see him driving around is a junked up ford probe nobody has ever seen his "supra"

thats exactly what i said but he then just proceeded to say mustangs sucked. I then brought up last years nopi event when a supra raced a 5.0 stang both turbocharged. 5.0 crushed his hopes and dreams but my friend did not see this race he probably did and just refuses to believe it.

supra ran a 10.62 at i think it was 130

i def remember the 5.0 et and speed it was a 7.8 at 187 lol the supra was one of the racing teams drag cars and they got stomped on by a street legal 5.0 lol.

oh and just on another note this is how bad of a driver he is also back when i was stock and he had a stock sti we raced and he only one by a car length from a dig lol. i wish i could have another crack at him with my mods now. but sadly he is one of the dumb ricers that street races got a crap load of wreckless tickets couldnt afford the insurance and had to get rid of it.

Thats a ridiculous statement first of all. Youtube supra's and watch. They have the POTENIAL to be dyno queens, and not the 80's model anyway.

Anyway.. if it's a late 80's it came with the 7m engine which was rated at 232 hp I didn't read through the post entirely, but unless its modded pretty well, you should beat him pretty bad. Now if he swapped the 1jz in and it's turbo'd, you'll prolly get beaten, unless he's as bad a driver as you say. Don't let these kids who talk crap about cars get to you.

Yeah, I mean, any car has any amount of given potential. None of us drive veyrons, so yeah.

I think the Supra's have bad reps for being dyno queens because they can put out 1200 HP pretty easily. Of course, unless you car if FULLY dragged out.. you cant use 1200. Thats where th dragged out mustangs take over. They are WAY cheaper and a crappier made car (the 5.0). No one in their right mind would drag out a supra where it wouldnt be street legal unless they had tons of money and no sense. Plus, one is a v8, and one is a v6. They are both engines though, so I wont even get onto that topic.

unless my car was TT, i would too I think the supra is a badass car; i just dont agree that they're the pinnacle of performace that every ricer makes them out to be. every turbo supra is NOT a bad ass, ferrari wasting car like some want to believe.

I personally wouldnt say 179 trap speed for a street car is a let down. I guess some people just can't look outside of the mustang sometimes.

I wasnt going to bring up the engine and their displacements and such.. but an 8.37 179mph v6 street car... that impresses me.

Also! I don't believe they are the "pinnacle of performance" either. That is what you make it.. and it also depends on what a particular person is talking about.


As far as having a dragged out 5.0, or a street TT Supra, the decision would be quite easy for me. I love my mustang.. but goodness gracious.

ok, first of all the supra's engine is not a v-6, its an inline 6 (just some brain food )

and next, if he still has a 7M, and decent mods, you will most likely win
but if he has a 1jz, and mods, it seems like a toss up. THey are twin turbo.
stock 1jz runs mid 14's, and for a few mods it will start going into the 13's

lol it was entertaining to watch all my friends who are big into the import world say that supra is going to kill the stang and just watch the stang lifts its wheels off the ground and then walk away from the supra. It was a beautiful site lol. but yea he claims its a 1gz motor but i looked it up and its not he doesnt know about his own car. the 1gz i think was a 2.5l from what i read. the 7m was a 3.0 he said its a 3.0 motor and says its a 1gz but he cant drive worth crap at all. I should win but i dont care i dont want to race him anyways he is the one running his mouth but he will get what comes to him.

he ran his mouth off to a 50 trim srt4 owner and raced it with his old sti got smoked every time but even after he lost he still ran his mouth saying its cause i couldnt hook up. I mean crap if a 400whp srt is beating him and he claims his awd sti isnt hooking somethings a miss lol

yea that guy is a tool. Im not sure what I would do though...in any case your really not ever going to shut him up. If you loos you will get drilled, if you win he will still talk smack because he had "traction issuess" or "missed a gear" or "my computer has a virus" , and if you dont race him he will talk smack that your scared of him.
