Can the 3v 05 4.6l be safely supercharged if the internals are not intended for forced induction? How can you change the fuel map if there is no port to access the ecm? Thanks.

I think anything can be boosted, it's all in the tunning. Once "tuners" figure out how to tune the ECU it should be simple.

You need to download a complete new PCM program. SCT has a system out, Ford Racing is coming out with a S/C kit and new PCM software for it.

I'm pretty sure it would be like a firmware flash like you would see on a hardware component on a PC. It's not hard if thats the case.

We already have a solution for tuning the 05. The SCT Xcalibrator is a PCM flash device that is extremely easy to use.

Even if you are not making major mods, a tune is very beneficial for this car. One problem with it is, as you approach the rev limiter the computer will begin to close the throttle, even if you have it to the floor. Our SCT tune can get rid of this.

That would be a great explanation why the GT's aren't trapping as high as expected. Do you notice the throttle closing on the dyno? Also, have you noticed if the PCM plays with timing at upper rpm's.

I would like to have my PCM flashed, how much does it cost?

You wouldn't believe how much is going on with ECT. It makes tuning the 05 very difficult.

We sell the SCT Xcalibrator for $375 and that would give a nice bump in power while getting rid of all the negatives of ECT. The best part is you can take the Xcalibrator to any SCT dealer (or to us) to get a dyno tune at anytime.

What else is going on with the ECT, if you wouldn't mind telling. How much do you much charge for a dyno tune?

Basically, every sensor in the car gives feedback to the computer and if it detects anything 'wrong' it's going to negatively affect the car by manipulating the ECT. Honestly, just like any shop out there, there's still alot to learn on the 05, but we definitely feel we are making headway quicker than expected with such a new platform.

We charge $125/hr + hardware (chip or flasher).
