Anything that has been modified, even if it is for the better, will have less value than factory original. I've been through it, you never get your money back.

Your are stuck in a quandry, to make your 67 Mustang a "liveable" car you have to do a lot of upgrades to it, all of which ultimately lower its value.

I have to disagree- I am 33 years old, have restored over 15 Mustangs, and made moneyon each one of them-

The most valuable 67 Mustang is a Shelby-

The next most valuable Mustang today is a restomod- they have overtaken the numbers matching cars-

The only time you loose money is when you modify a Shelby or a K code-

But a restomod C code fastback is worth much much more then a stock one-

I recently sold a 65 restomod fastback-- I paid 9,000 for the car, put another 10,000 into it, and sold it for 26,000-

My current 66 fastback I bought for 10,000 a year ago, I have put another 15,000 into it, and I just turned down an offer for 40,000 at the last show-

40,000, and that car was originally a 6 cylinder-

You just have to modify a C code or even an A code-

If you modify a K code or a Shelby 67- you will loose money however-

Now just take all of those production numbers and cut them in half- maybe more

as alot of those cars have been totaled, junked, crushed or rusted...lol

hmm Interesting posts. I had a 03 cobra that was modded, nice, I took to the track every now and again and enjoyed it. Many people thought it was very nice. Now while I did do some of the mods myself, I did not have to put a lot into it to make it fast. The standard chip, pulley, exhaust was all I needed.

The car was stolen...taken right out of my driveway b a tow truck..it sucked hard, and I was livid. I had just got home from knee surgery as well, and dam near had to go back when I saw the car was gone. In the aftermath, the ins paid me off, and I started looking for another car. Probaly a 05 gt I thought. Then I found my babay. A 65 Mustang coupe, that needed some work, but was not to bad. I thought about buying a car older than me, but for some reason I had to get it. I bought the car for 7k. I have restored it, put in a 351w with a nice tune in it, and will modify the steering next. The car even has AC for the hot florida sun. It fast as all get out, and I truly believe that due to the weight and power this car has, will be faster than my cobra was in the 1/4. With all the parts available now, you can easily make your classic as modern as you want to. Even ford took a 65 FB and stuffed a cammer 5.0 in it, and updatd it with all modern gear. Very nice car in the end, that handle and preformed just as good as an 05 GT.

I drive this car around and I get a LOT of compliments. Even from little kids they say, "WOW NOW THATS A REAL MUSTANG" I love mustangs. I like modding them. With this 65, I feel more connected to it than I did with my 97 vert, or my 03 cobra. The feeling of owning a nice classic far exceeds owning a newer model mustang..but thats just my opion. For what its worth, I am always being ask if I am selling..I would say I have about 14k into it now, including the price of the car. My highest offer was 26k cash..I would say that is a decent return if I wanted to sell.

In short, I say restore the 67. The 05, 06 Mustangs ar everywhere now..The 07 GT500 will hopefully e special one day...But just ask yourself..how many 67 Fastbacks do you see ? How many have you seen fully restored and said "Man..I would like to own that car" Heh if you are intent on selling it that bad, shoot me a email. I know plenty of people..myself included here in florida who would luv to take it off your hands..

Back to your original post I would do both the 67 and a 07 later on cuz now u can get a used 05 perty cheap.
