I am sorry if this has been covered; I did a search and did not find anything.

What are the differences between the Bullitt and the Premium GT I have looked at the press releases on the Bullitt but do not know if the GT gets the system where it will run on 87Oct fuel? My wife has given me the go ahead to get a new car and I am trying to decide if the Bullitt is worth it or if I should get a GT and modify it the way I like it.

May also depend on how much over sticker dealers are wanting for the Bullitt. I saw one idiot dealer on ebay who wanted more than $10,000 over sticker for a Bullitt. In that case, the GT would by far be the best deal.

Actually, the Bullitt has quite a few upgrades for the money. Many more than, say the Shelby GT. Most dealers are offering the Bullitt at MSRP, as well. It's only a few grand more than the GT and comes with a nice list of upgrades, along with a better sounding exhaust.

Do you have or know where to find a list of the differences from the two. I have been able to locate a laundry list of the differences between the 01GT and 01 Bullitt but have had no luck in location this same kind of information on the 08.

Dealers don't have to accept X-plan on any of their cars. People could have done the Shelby GT on x-plan, but I only found one dealer that would have done it. X-plan also doesn't reduce the price much. When I bought mine, it brought it down to about the lower limit of what I heard people were able to negotiate, but it took the hassle out.

Dark, does the Bullit really have more than the Shelby GT? The Shelby is at least rated for more horsepower and I thought it has more handling upgrades.

Shelby GT Specs:

* 4.6-liter V-8 w/325 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque
* Ford Racing Handling Pack - Details
* Ford Racing Power Pack - Details
* 18" wheels
* Hurst Short Throw Shifter
* Offered in Black and Performance White only w/Silver Stripes
* Unique Front Fascia
* Hood Scoop
* Brushed Aluminum Grille
* Shelby GT Logo Floormats and Sill plates
* Authentication Plate on Center Dashboard and Under Hood

The Bullitt has 3.73 gears, for one. The SGT has 3.55's. It has a completely different exhaust which sounds better. It has a different intake which draws in cooler air. It has a better tune than the SGT. It has different cam timing. It has a uniquely tuned suspension and also upgraded brake pads. Both cars are great, but for dollar value, you get a better deal with the Bullitt. The Bullitt MSRP starts under $32k. The SGT MSRP starts under $35k.

The Ford site has this.

Do all 08 get
"Engine further enhanced by adaptive spark ignition system, new for the 2008 Mustang"
That statement is a little confusing.

From what I've read, it's in the tuning and it's only currently available on the Bullitt. I believe the big tuners out there are supposed to be looking into how it's being done, and what it would take to do something similar on other vehicles.

That is what I thought thanks for the clarification.

My Brother has a 01 Bullitt and it is a fun car but I need to get something that is Better B-). And it would be nice to have a 2 Bullitt Family but if it is 8K difference then I will have to get the GT. I will have to make some calls to the local dealers and see what is up.
