I figured i would ask..I think i know the answer but...well i guess i want ot make myself feel more comfortable...I ran my 87 Vert with the mods in my sig...10 psi snow performance stage 2 water injection...mickey thomspon ET drag radials with 25 psi in them ...ran a 13.3@ 103 with a 188 60ft...bottom end and mid range seemed good top it fell flat...I talked to the company i bought the meth kit from and he said he has me set-up to run rich..i dont have a tune...car is still speed density...I run with locled timing at 21 degrees..My question is...im sure that was killing my top end speed wise..Because i know a blower car makes more on top then bottom...So i adjusted the control box on the meth to come in at a later PSI...almost at full boost...and i will up the timing ....Should i get better ET's this way and more speed?

Running meth is useless if you dont have a tune or a way to gauge your air fuel ratios. Your probably really hurting performance with the meth and no tune

you will actually make less power with meth and no tune. been there done that.

I'd get a wideband on that thing if you aren't going to get it tuned. Its the only way to see what's happening, especially with running meth.

Also 25psi in your drag radials is way to high. I'd start at 18 see if it bites, if not lower it and keep working the air pressure till it does. I have been running 18 but last night it was so freaking cold I went to 15 hot and made a huge difference. I was spinning to a 1.8 60ft but with the air pressure adjustment ran a 1.4 60 ft.

Didn't you already ask these questions? Yes timing will give you more "speed".

Put your timing at 10 degrees, unless you run 93 octane, then your safe to about 14 degrees, yank the meth off and yes you'll run faster.

I tried that...thats why i have meth on the car,It was pinging really really bad at 10 degress with the spout in...I tried lowering it and it felt like crap..so i locked the timing at 21 degrees with the spout out ran good when it got hot it would start to ping...Hense why i installed a meth kit...21 locked timing, can beat on it all day temps dont even go above 180...AND no pining what so ever....thats why i was thinking of uping the timing to 24/26 total..and make the meth come in later on the control box...

If you're pinging at 10 degrees i would think something is seriously wrong with the engine. There's no reason you should be pinging with 93 in it and basic bolt ons.

I run a supercharger with 10 pounds of boost...Thats why i bought the water injection to aid in pinging with that much boost on a stock motor...

And now that i think about it, basically all you have horsepower wise is full exhaust and a Powerdyne. Not crappin on your powerdyne i had one before, but id be very surprised if your seeing 10 psi out of it. Stock heads stock intake stock cam, 103 mph may be just where youre supposed to be.

19 lb injectors with an FMU i know i need bigger...I do see 10 psi...it was re-done by 928 motorsports, has the updated Kevlar belt, better bearings..I also have a 4 inch AFMS powerpipe that helps in boost a little...The car before the blower went 14.4 @ 96 mph and that was on street tires with a 2.0 60ft and timing set by ear...it was pinging so bad at the track i didnt have a timing light so i backed it down..Im sure i could have gotten better ET's..so i have the blower now, meth injection,MT et street drag radials..and i went 13.3I think i have a little more left in it...Also i was told by the supplier that sold me the meth kit..HE HAS ME running rich because i wasnt getting a tune...I can see it from the 330 mark to the 1/8 mile mark drop time and speed...Thats were the meth was coming in and i think making it run rich slowing it down has to be no???..I went 8.5 in the 1/8 at only 80 mph ..Im looking at the times slips of people i raced that nite i had better 1/8 times then them and the went 8.7@89 mph in the 1/8 so i was loosing HP somewhere?????i fell off after the 330 mark... Do You see what im saying???? I think the car was running to rich up top? Plus my timing set locked at 21 degrees i think i should up that too....Im not looking for 10's..lol i would like a nice high 12's out of her full weight heavy 3778 lbs with me it..to me thats good enough...

If you don't adjust timing accordingly to burn that extra octane it will make less power and thus you will run slower! My car made 50 less hp to the wheels on a dyno by adding meth without tuning for it.

If you let that thing ping it's a matter of time before it lets go!

Thanks for the info Im going to try to adjust the timing to 24/26 total and adjust the meth to come in a little later..see if that helps add some power back...I want to run it again soon and see if i can get it to a high 12 second run.. I would be pretty happy with that, considering what i have done to it and the weight...
