Finally got to the track with new set up> 86 bottem end, mildley ported E7's, cobra I/T, 1.6 RR's, 1 5/8 ceramic headers, flows. This was my first time drag racing, did 5 runs, best time 14.6 with 98mph, but bad reaction of .885. On street radials. Once I figure out how to launch it, and get a better reaction time could I get into high 13's with street tires with this set up? Went up against 2005 stang, he ran 15.02,98mph, I had 15.18 96 mphs ,Can't wait to get out again.

Keep practicing. I'm not gonna say 13s, which it may/may not do, I'm just not sure, but it definately sounds like it's capable of low 14s. Street tires are a pain to hook up for me. R/T doesn't matter. 60ft time does. What did you 60ft?

i think you could run a low 14, im 13.5 on street tires but i have a little more work. screw the street tires all together, its not worth going to the track with them. i did my 13.5's on street tires and there useless when your done cuz theres no rubber left so ya just have to buy new tires. save the money and buy m/t.

Your car will get faster with time...

R/T does not have anything to do with time, but your combo has much more in it, just try out different launch and shift points. The 86 bottem end should help the compression, the heads sound alright (Im doing decent with a set of E7s) maybe could use better valves, and the rest of the bolt ons, but otherwise similar to what I have done! I could see mid to low 13s with the rest of the bolt ons and learning the car!

bolt ons

I should have listed all of my bolt ons > I also have 3.73's, pullies, msd coil& cap rotor. steeda triax shifter.FMS wires, I plan on electric fan, and maybe strut brace to tighten things up. Are the ign enhancers worth the money? like a msd or crane unit. I estimate this is in the 270-280hp range at crank.

if somehow you can manage 1.9's on street tires...(good luck) you'll hit 13's

otherwise just buy a set of used cheaters for the track.

pull 13's all day long

i used to get 13.20's out of my old notch w/ 100% bone stock motor.

just gears , tires , exhaust and southsides

Your reaction time has nothing to do with your quarter mile times. The tree can go green and you can sit there for 5 minutes and it still wouldn't change how fast the car does the quarter. Your only concern with reaction times would be if you are racing someone. Get your 60' times down and watch your quarted mile time shrink.

Coming from someone that's spent some time on the dyno with various configurations of the 86 SD combo; I think that your power expectation without a power adder is a bit optimistic.

DAGGER wouldnt 270-280 at the crank only be like 230-240 at the wheels , is that really optimistic ?
im just curious ...

I'm just looking at his combo changes. I don't see 50 or more HP coming from just E7s, RR, and headers. I did not however, notice that he'd swapped intakes the first time I read it through. Could be close. With that combination, I'd expect to see a pretty significant torque gain.

I dont know, my car made 265 rwhp on a stock bottem end (272 on a honed bottem end), stock cam, E7s with larger valves and a valve job, rockers, full exhaust and all the bolt ons. I have seen stock motored cars in the 225-245 range, so I would say his guesses should be close!
