At the time parts for the 5 liter were probably A. More acessable, B. Cheaper

Personally, I'd rather have the power of the LS1 with the sound of the 5 liter
it wasnt ALL aluminum....just the heads, the block is cast iron! The aluminum blocks in the cobra made their run from 96-98

Why would I get a 4.6... Because a 4.6, worked over heads and intake, stock camd and a bunch of boost = 600-700 to the tires. Not even close with a 5.0 and those mods... That and the 4.6s sound better than the 5.0s!
