The mighty 5.0 engine 87-93 in the Mustang was rated 1 of the 10 best V-8,s in the WORLD.
I have the mag i got to dig it out.
Questions this Do u stangsters know why this v-8 5.0 and not the 4.6 mustang engine was listed?????

Aluminum DOHC in mustangs = 96-01 cobra, 03-04 mach 1.
I prefer the 5.0 sound but a DOHC 4.6 sounds wicked too.
Why would I get a 4.6... Because a 4.6, worked over heads and intake, stock camd and a bunch of boost = 600-700 to the tires. Not even close with a 5.0 and those mods... That and the 4.6s sound better than the 5.0s!

i hope you are refering to the 4valve motors as the 2vs take twice as much effort to get there! I have both and would take the pushrod over the OHC motor all day!
get a 351 then.

Honestly, I don't understand how the 5.0 made that list at all. Yeah, it's pretty durable in stock form, but makes no power whatsoever, and breaks when you start making real power.

99/01 cobras had aluminum blocks. I know that they used the Teksid blocks for a while but can't remember if they used them all the way through both years or quit during the 01 production year. The teksid blocks are a pretty desirable block. I thought that I remember reading they were forged in Italy and imported to the US but I could be wrong.

Of course I am referring to the DOHC motors. I do like the 2Vs just because they are underdogs, but if I were to swap Id toss a 4V in.
Isn't the LS7 a pushrod motor?
