10 point cage setups. Interest in the dashboard setup.

Hey all,

Looking to get a custom cage on the Stang. I'm thinking a 10 point but was wondering how the dashboard setup would go.

Anyone have pics or comments on the dashboard setup?

Like I know the tweets will need to be removed and the cover modified.

Is there a dash mod needed? Like cutting? What about the stuff behind the dash? Vents and wiring?

Thanks,
Mike:nice:

I did mine and yes the vent ducts have to come out and part of the duct work for the heat/AC. Also you will want to remove the ecu from the kick panel before welding the tube to the floor, depending on where you locate the tube attachment point on the floor you might not get it out after. Another suggestion, see if the installer will bend the bars to clear the arm rest. If not you'll have to notch them or remove them. I bent mine and it looks way better. Hope this helps. Mike

Good to know! Thanks. As for the arm rests....those are coming out. I'm getting the blank door covers from 5.0 Resto and moving the window/lock switch to the center console/probably in the ashtray spot kinda like my e46 BMW. :nice:

How much work is done to the heat plumbing? Does it remove the ability for the heat to work in those side vents?

Thanks for the help! Got any pics?

OK let's see how these pics turn out. Bone Stock, I do get heat however it comes out at the top and bottom because of the duct work I had to remove. Mike
