But I would never confuse the engine assembly process in your garage (or mine) with how engines are assembled at Ford's Romeo factory.
I bought a new 01 GT Vert and I changed the oil at just over 1000 miles, it looked like it needed it. Besides, it just seems like common sense for the people with mechanical minds anyways. No matter how "clean" the assembly is there's always going to the fact that parts are getting broke in and all that crap ends up in your oil.
