I have a air compressor that can be wired for 110 or 220, I was just wondering if anyone here knows how to re-wire it for 220 operation? It has a tag on it for wiring but it truthfully confuses me, I am no electrical enginear. It works fine right now but it is kind of slow, and is wired for 110 operation.

You'll burn it out if you continue to operate it on 220 if it's wired for 110
You'll have to swap some wires around internally to rewire it for 220. Tough to explain it over the internet.
Worse comes to worse, call an electrician up or see if you know of anyone with electrical ability to do so.

No, it is wired for 110 right now and I run it at 110, I just want to figure out how to rewire it internally and convert the plug to 220.

+1 Something like that I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to explain how to do it. There are too many factors involved that can determine a bad outcome. Without seeing it in person to verify it is wired correctly now (even though it works fine now someone that did the previous wiring may not have known the wiring color code or buss/lug to use and wired it to how they thought it should be and then those of us that know, try to explain in terms of wire color and buss/lug and then bam somethings fried - if that makes sense) also we don't know what kind/size of wire is being used now, what kind/size of wire & male/female recepticles are you going to use, etc, etc...

I have an electrician's lisence even though I'm not in the trade anymore. Legally I cannot give electrical advice because if he follows it and it burns his house down, i could be held liable. That's why i said call an electrician.
Without seeing it in person it would be tough for even me to explain where to begin. I'd have to look at it, look at the diagram, very the wiring size is okay, etc etc. I've seen people use speaker wire to wire up ceiling fans and other scary stuff that taught me to never assume previous work is done correctly.
