I see a lot of times and mods showcased by shop owners or sponsored cars. I'm just another guy like most here. Went to the track last night. I'm still getting used to the new clutch! My best run of the night was 12.94@105 at Moroso Motorsport park. I ran a 12.86 at Bradenton. The two tracks are night and day though. I still need to get change out the exhaust. I have a 1 3/4 long tube headers and 3" offroad full exhaust on order with Stainless Works. At that time, I'll put on the Steeda Charge-motion plates and get a custom SCT tune. I should hit roughly 315-320 rwhp at that point. I'm currently at 294 rwhp. I'll be heading up to Reynolds, GA tomorrow for the NMRA nationals. I should be able to cut some better times up there. It'll be cold too
The Steeda Red Q car was there too. He was knocking out 12.75@107.

Great times. I ran a 13.465@104.30 on a 2.0 60' Tuesday on the stock Pirellis. I need some slicks to get closer to the 12's.

My best on the stock Pirelli's was 13.14@103 and 1.8-60'. Once I put on the M/T, things had to change. I promise you, you will tear up your clutch with the DOT slicks. In order to get your 60' down, you will have to feather the clutch out. I had it pretty much down-pat. I've replaced my clutch and the stock one was about an 1/16 away from the rivets. That was after about 25 runs at the track. I then had to change the springs because it was squatting so hard and pretty much bouncing back up. I also changed to a upper 3rd link and then line locks. The line locks will really save the clutch and it is a lot of fun as well. Be sure to spray burnout guard or WD40 on the rear 1/4 or you will spend and hour trying to get rubber off.

No, I won't. I'm leaving in about an hour headed for the NMRA in Georgia. Next time though.
Take care,
David

Just curious, but have you done anything to the car to remove weight? And what does a stock 05 GT weigh? Those are great times for a stock motored car.

Nothing for weight reduction. I usually have around 1/8-1/4 tank of gas. This weekend, I took out the spare, jack, and rear seats. Being at a different track, it was hard to gauge how valuable it really was. At my track, my car weighed 3350 lbs spare and seats in. I weigh 150 lbs. In Georgia, the car with me in it weighed 3500 lbs. gutted. So who knows. I guess I need to weigh the car again at my track gutted. I probably won't ever remove all that stuff again.
It was hot up there and I couldn't hook as good as expected. My best 60' was 1.77. My best 1/4 ET was 12.94 at like 104. I don't remember exactly. My headers and exhaust shipped today, so that should give me another 20+HP.
