You need to check those two slim head bolts. They look too thick to me. Looking at the timing chain cover it looks like the driver side one it contacting. I can see it on the bolt head as well in the second picture.

I'm glad I took the water pump cover off. Looks like they both blew out.Other thing is to use a thin layer of ATV on both sides of the gasket. I use Fel-Pro’s and am not sure what brand those are as the Fel-Pro’s are blue.

Let me know how your OEM bolts compare to these. I think I ground them down enough to clear with no issue...especially the one on the right.I have a spare set of the Ford ones as it seems all the aftermarket ones are too thick.

They usually clean up the ports by hand, hook it up to the machine, and push abrasive Playdough through it until they get the inside diameter they're after.
Those bolt heads were contacting what, the WP? Caused an issue?Most definitely blew the water pump gasket. And thinking back for the past few days, l do remember a slight leak ever since initial engine install by my mechanic.
Any suggestions from you all how to reinstall this securely so I never have to deal with a leaking water pump again is much appreciated. Stuff like, dry install or add some sealant? Thanks
