I bought a chepie Equus electric water temp gauge. The sending unit that came with it was designed for a Honda or something...it's waaayyy too small to fit the threaded hole in the manifold.

Since the stock gauges work on 5v, it's not surprising that the stock sending unit doesn't work right with this gauge.

Where can I get a sending unit that will work with the 12v gauge?

i think you should be able to get a thread adapter so the sending unit that came with the gauge will fit. look on summit for something of the like.

i'm not sure where you'd get another unit as i've never looked into it. did you try summit?

good luck

All you need is a pipe threaded bushing. You can find these in any hardware store. The hole in the manifold is usually 3/8NPT, you need one this size on the outside and whatever size your sender is on the inside (should be either 1/4"NPT or 1/8"NPT) Some manifolds have a larger 1/2"NPT hole in that case you'll need one that size on the outside. Brass bushings this size will run you a couple dollars at the most.
