13" rear rotors

Just installed new Behr 13" rear rotors on my 2000 GT. "wow" are they impressive,even if I say so myself. Top quallity components,however the instructions have a flaw,and they send way to many parts.That initself can bring on cofusion. The prob. starts with the re-install of the caliper bracket. The instructions require supplied washers on both upper and lower mounting bolts,however the lower bolt is an allen head style that needs to resess into a hole for needed clearance for the parking brake cable asm. If a washer is used ,it cannot resess into the hole and provide the needed clearance.Also not enough threads will be enguaged to provide the proper clamping. IE. do not use the washer on the lower bolt. Also my kit had 10 washers and only used 4. those were on the groan bracket side of the adaptor bracket mounting bolts.All other directions were correct & final results were super. After break in procedures were completed,I was impressed w/this mod as much as I was w/13" front Cobra brakes installed a month prior.This puppy really stops in a heartbeat compaired to stock!

Nice, and thanks for the detail on the instructions. How about giving us a long term update in the future. I'd like to know if you ABS starts kicking in a lot on the rears.

Thanks for the feedback,I have not done any high speed long aplication type stops,or real hard high speed stuff,however I will report back later. Going to work during the week will test these conditions. 30mile freeway race track conditions to and from work,(normal) But the 55mph etc.results were impresive enough that I needed to re-learn how much pedal pressure to use. The balance was an issue I thought might pose a prob.however the caliper did not change,only the amount of surface area,and quite frankly it really felt very stable once I re-adjusted the pedal pressure for a given event. Really quite powerful feel.

ok those look very clean, i have a 97' vert were and what kind a rotors should i snag, slotted or crossed drilled, sorry for hopping in on the thread!!

Many say sloted & drilled rotors can be a prob. I believe the type of driver is more of the issue. My experience has shown that some people are really hard on brakes,and some are not. Just some people are hard on clutches and some are not. Also type of driving style can be a factor. I have had hot rods all my life and I am one that is easy on both,although many consider me hard on a car. I have sloted and crossdrilled rotors and have no prob.
