I have had two mustangs, 89 GT and 97 Cobra. Then in 2005 I sold my soul and my mustang to the devil for a C5 Corvette. It has been a nice 13 years.
I have twin two year old boys that are getting to be the age where I would like them to enjoy a top down afternoon ride. I want a Mustang again for that backseat.
I have been looking in my market (Chicago area) and it seems like there are deep discounts on 2017 GT premiums ($5,000 below MSRP). I believe this is probably because they don't want to be stuck with a car they cannot sell because of the greatly improved 2018 GT (25 HP difference, digital dash, exhaust modes, magnetic shocks, etc.)
Do you think I will see deep discounts like this in the summer of 2018? or is this a right now incident because of the big 2018 changes? Or does this happen every year when dealers dump last years inventory?
TL;DR Would you buy a 2017 GT at a reduced price today or would you wait till next year when you could afford a 2018 GT?
