I ran my car at the track last week and only got one run in due to lightning. I got a average launch (bogged slightly) shifted a little early out of 1st and 2nd and ran a 14.7 at 95. My car has a cai (kind of not great) gears (PO said 3.73's, but i'm not for sure, feels steeper maybe 4.10's) and subframes. I passed through the trap halfway though 4th gear. I know i'm not the best driver, but is this a reasonably good time for a basically stock 5.0? Seems like the trap speed is a little low. Its a coupe 5 speed. I'm putting a cam in it monday, hopefully i can get near 100mph in the 1/4.

EDIT: The car had been running for a good 20 minutes straight, so it wasnt cool and the check engine light was on, if that would have anything to do with it.

Here's what I ran w/ the stock LX 5.0 in my sig:

I went out to the track today and didn't fair too well either....it was 92* and humid as all hell. Nobody was hooking for crap and i don't think anyone on street tires broke out of the 2.0 60' range. I didn't even back up my best time :(

A cam is not gonna do as much as a set of heads would. The stock cam is pretty good. The stock intake and heads are a huge bottle neck. Replace those 2 items and she's gonna breathe a 1000X better! Lose the stock H pipe if your gonna do the intake and heads, it will compliment the mods!

sounds like a good time for the mods listed get the 2.2 60' down to a nice 2.0 with street tires, try to get a nice drag radial or slick and bust 1.8 and you should see much better results.

Thats actually a good time and decent MPH for the few mods you have. The check engine light would worry me a little bit. Pull the codes and see whats its all about. Then ice down the intake before you run it next time and see what you can come up with. Practice the launch and your shifting and you should see some LOW 14's. Not back for a basically stock notch. I also agree a cam is a bad idea at this time. No real performance gains to be had. You will most likely loose low end grunt and only pick up a couple ponies between 3k and 4.5k. An intake and O/R h pipe would be money better spent. good times though!
