15 Years On Stangnet

I came to the realization last night that I have been on this site for 15 years as of this year. Holy crap.

When I joined stangnet, I was a 17 year old kid going into my senior year of high school with my first car- a 1990 2.3L LX hatchback.

Today I'm 32, married, own a house, finally have that V8 Mustang I lusted after when I was 17. And surprisingly, during that 15 year span I've only been through four vehicles: My old LX (which I kept for 7 years), a 1994 Tempo (winter beater), my old '87 Turbo Coupe (which I also kept for 7 years), and my old F-250 that I would have kept had I not lost my job, then got another with too long of a commute for it to be economically feasible.

I've been on Stangnet for longer than I held any job...longer than I was in grade school & high school! I've been on here 3x as long as I've known my wife.

I made a couple good friends through this site over the years (though I don't think any of them are regulars here anymore), and of course there are always lots of familiar usernames around as well.

I don't come on here as much as I used to, I don't post a lot, and the site is not as busy as it used to be...but Stangnet is like that old familiar friend who is always there, who you can't help but stop in and visit. I'm still here almost daily, lurking!

It's definitely crazy to think about. Time flies!

OMG I remember that cat ^^^

On May 11, 1999 I would have been a 20 year old guy in college. I was driving a 1986 Mustang GT convertible. I was a big poster at the time on Corral under the name HoodStrype. My car was constantly breaking down. I had met my now wife the year before. I sold that Mustang a year later with 186,000 miles on it. I left the account sitting and never showed up again until about January 2006 when I bought another 5.0 and was already driving a 4.6. I started working on the 5.0 to get my mind off a family member's death. So one night in 2006 I decided to take all of my wife's stuffed animals and put them in my 2001 GT...

I've always been a little... Different.

LMAO!

I think I have been around here for about 8 years. Joined when I bought my screaming yellow 04. Used to hang out in 4.6 talk when it was cool. Ended up here.

Had my Fox for awhile and had to sell it. And now my toy is a Jeep.

Had that 944 for a bit too.

Of course my avatars have mostly been about boobies. Me like boobies.

Still some names on here from the days and like to think I have made a few Internet friends and maybe some real ones too.

If not then F you all!!!

Hah I've been here since 2002. Right when I got my While 2000 V6 Auto.

Loved that car until the AC died. Then I got my Mazda

Jebus, I'm old.

Dude, you have an open invitation. BTW, the pool looks GREAT this year . . . it's the prettiest it's ever been. And since we got it looking so good, we haven't had a day over 85 in 2 weeks! lol.

Tell you guys what . . . for 50 cents each, we'll have a skinny dip party at my house. For 20 bucks each . . . I promise to keep my clothes ON! LOL!
