I have an 87 GT vert and I'm wondering if it would be possible to get an 18x9 inch rim on the front and an 18x10 inch rim on the rear after doing the five lug conversion. What additional mods would I have to do to make this happen.
yes you can, but you'll need steering limiters OR aftermarket front control arms to prevent rubbing at full lock, rolled fenders. in the back it should be easier yet depending on desired tire size. probably rolled fenders, no quad shocks, aftermarket control arms and maybe something like a panhard bar to keep the rear under the car.
of course each car is different and you may be lucky. hope this helps.
Which aftermarket front control arms would you reccomend? Again I have not done the conversion yet and I'm wondering if I could get away with using the Mark VII rotors or not on the front.

i'd rather not recommend a control arm as i've no experience with aftermarket units. check with griggs, maximum motorsports. they have good quality parts. i think most tubular aftermarket c/a's (able to clear your rims) will require coil-overs as well.
another thing to consider if you're on a budget. some people get 9" rims to work on factory c/a's by grinding of a little plate where the wheel rubs. you'll also probably need to tweak the inner fender skirt to clear your tires.
what size tires were you looking to run?

edit: oh yah, regarding the mark vii rotors. it depends on what rims you'll be using. a cobra r style rim won't be able to clear the dust cap on the rotor so you won't be able to put the center cap on. double check on matt's brake page for more info.
These rims were on a 99GT that I had to sell. They currently have 265/35/18 on the front with 295's out back. I plan on putting 245's up front and moving the 265's to the rear.
