18' are hot and your stang and it will handle nice.

I dont beleive the ultra lites will look as they are too flat...Deep rims look hot on stangs. Also you will need to remove your quad shock to install them in the back.

Is this correct? To have deep dish 18's you have to remove the quads and you include handling in the same sentence?
Each to his/her own, maybe I'm missing something, no offence entended on my part, I've yet to be inlightened.

This guy will have deep dish 18s on his car... Ill be a ricer and love every minute of it. The reason I dont want 19s, they in my eyes are too big. Now if I had a new edge car Id run 18s in front 19s out back, and an S197 20s ftw!

Maybe the weight reduction is where the performance comes from, you know with the thinner tire and less air and all.:D

Are you still here? :Zip2:

Please be aware that while 18s' offer a great "bling" factor IMO, they also offer the oppurtunity to run a large caliper/rotor setup on the front and rear. This does help with a decrease in the stopping distance.
Secondly, removing the quad shock is completely acceptable if the car runs a decent lower control arm. The quad is strictly there to reduce wheel hop, whereas an aftermarket LCA will effectuate the same. Of course, the need to remove the quad shock also depends on the wheel width and offset. In my case I did not need to remove it to fit the wheel but instead decided to pull it once I put on some decent LCAs.
Thirdly, I seriously debated running a 17" FMS wheel but ended up going with the 18", why? because Saleen only makes the 99-04 wheels in 18". That is the size that looks authentic and I refuse to get a cheap copy version in 17".
Also, I would hope you know this, however, most 18s are heavier than 17s. While this may not be the case with the MM Maxxim 18" wheels, I know it is with my Saleens. I also decided to compensate for this weight by getting 2 piece rotors at all four corners which is a reduction of 5lbs per rotor.
We all know you don't like 18s but there are plenty of us that still do. Hopefully you feel a little more "inlightened" now.

Yeah man I'm still here. As long as we're talking about bling, it's all in the eye of the beholder, so any cheesey ad on could be bling to who ever likes it.
It would be the same if I wanted steel 14"s with babymoons and thick whitewalls which I don't. 13" rotors front and back will fit under 17"s.
Anyway, I'm just giving ya'll a hard time, I really don't care if either way, it's not my car or my money.
