1965 mustang with a 289...where does the negative battery cable go?

Putting my car back together and have no clue. does it bolt to the frame?...to the block? If someone can post a picture that would be much appreciated!

I believe it bolts to the block, but you can do either one, frame or motor. My 90 bolts to the block and theres a large ground between the block and the firewall.

There should be a large bolt or stud on the block below the alternator.

I had mine just bolted to the block but would have trouble with it starting after it would sit for about a month, so I had run another braided cable from the back of the passanger head to the firewall and haven't had a problem since.

What 2+2gt said but also make sure you have a good ground from engine to firewall (or frame/body).

That's what the factory did, so yours must have been missing.

Yeah I guess it was, when I bought the car it was in pieces.
