It is hard to tell in this picture but the nose is to wide at the top so I cut off both sides







Another problem is the bottom brackets hung down over an 1" from the frame rail so I cut them off and bolted them to the frame





Next I used fiberglass mat and resin to reattach. When this sets up I will take it off and add more to the other side.

I got a package today from UPS and I was surprised to find these in the box. I can't wait to install these great looking hinges.

Man love those hinges! I can't believe I missed that show. When an where is the next one? Silver Spings? Awsome build.

Making new fiberglass ends for the front end.



I taped a piece of aluminum on there for a pattern than added two pieces of fiberglass mat



The next day I carefully removed the aluminum



I added more material to the back side than sanded a little and this is the first test fit. It's getting closer to what I want. I still need to reshape the spoiler.

I spent today adding fiberglass to the ends of the front end so it will mount to the holes in the fender where the stock valance bolts. It is now held in place with 8 bolts in the original holes.

So in the beginning, when you flared the fenders and quarters. You flared the front 1 1/2 and how much did you flare the back? Same? It just looks a little more. And did you cut right on the curve of the old flare? I went to the car show at Gator Ford and there was a 67 fast back there, that was flared also. wow it looked great. I love the extra care you've taken to make sure your lines gaps and panels are right and straight. Nothing worse in the world is going to a car show and seeing wavy panels and parts that just don't line up.

No kidding, and mustangs were never the greatest from the factory, it takes so much patience to full off a clean look

The front and rear were flared the same amount. I did this a long time ago but I believe I cut it just as it starts to flare on the stock fender and quarter. I don't like that fastback the flare stands out to much. Mine looks like it came from the factory that way and if I don't tell someone they don't notice it.

Amazing - looks like it came from the factory that way. Wish I had done mine like that, or rather I wish I had the skills to do have installed mine like that....Keep the updates coming!

I wanted a plain grille for the Coupe so I ordered a new Dynacorn grille and drilled out the rivets that held the uprights.





Be sure and check out the June 2012 issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine because the Coupe and Fairlane will be on the cover. This is the first time a car not finished is on the cover.
