1969 428CJ Mach 1 Q Code 4spd (close ratio) w/38k miles

Hi All!
I am in the process of purchasing a pretty unique car. Essentially, the provenance can be traced back to the original owner and I have lots of documentation from the original dealer invoice, all the title transfers with mileage listed (including the last sale at a major auction house in 1999 to the current owner), and a previous owner's statement of known facts. The current owner states that the engine, carb, and transmission are original and with the mileage, I have no reason to doubt that. The only part that may not be numbers matching is the rear end which appears to have been swapped out with a posi 3.25 when sold at auction. The radio was removed to be inspected.
The car will also come with new Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake.

I apologize for the poor quality pictures but the current owner took them with an old camera and it has been sitting in a garage for almost 20 years and was very rarely driven. One very auspicious detail I noticed is the fact it has the factory correct hose clamps and the upper radiator hose is a correct Autolite part. These details usually bode well for the veracity of the rest of the car in my experience. I still really need to absolutely verify the originality of the engine and transmission and if there is any information that anyone has that can help me I'd be most appreciative. In all honesty, I really would like to find someone in the Santa Fe area that could go look at the car for me (and not buy it out from under me haha).

Thanks again in advance!

I owned a q code 69 in the early 70's with an auto and a shaker, the only thing that looks odd to me, and I'm old and forgetful, is the tail pipes, I don't remember the twin pipes. But that could just be my memory.

Bob is one of the experts on 69 mustangs, he was/is an MCA judge and a contributor to mustang monthly mag (I think that is still around) and would know someone in your area that should be able to authenticate your find without undermining your purchase. He may even know about the car already. Rodger @ http://shadyoaksmustangranch.homestead.com/ is also an expert, if you talk to Rodger tell him J.R. Sent you.
