So my brother wants a 69 mach 1 scoop on his 2005 GT ,along with a black out hood just like the 69 with a blue boarder . I took an old junk hood and fit a 69 scoop to it ,i still need to grind the arch just a bit to fit up to the 2005 hood but looks like it will fit very nice . The turn signals will also be hooked up in the mach 1 scoop .
I transferred the pattern to a black hood i have here with a bit of damage at the peak . I am pretty sure i can straighten this hood so he can save his original hood .

Had to cut two openings in the back of the hood for the lights and drill all the mounting holes ,two of the holes actually hit where the 05 scoop would bolt down

Yeah, this hood is easily savable. I have a bit of knocking around to do on the front lip but aluminum is way easier to work than steel

Nice ,i got the peak of the hood out to just a couple of tiny dings ,if i had a way to get behind them i could push them out as well . I am happy with this though .

I bought a couple of sleeves of sand paper last week ,80 grit and 150 grit , i took out the first sheet of 80 and used it up and went for another sheet , what the hell! It was used ! I didnt think much about it and went on with 150 grit ,first sheet used up i got another one ...you guessed it ,it was used also ! Some jack ass used 1 sheet out of both sleeves ,put it back and must have returned the paper haha ! There is some real tight wads out there !

Fit the hood to the car ,yep its dirty ,only 1000 in the last 5 years hes owned it . The hood fits good ,good thing because there is no adjustment ,you simply bolt it down .
Mounted the hood pin plates as well ,didnt want to drill holes after painting .

The black is on but it will be a while before clear coat . You can just barely make out the fine line tape around the edge ,once the tape is pulled there will be a blue boarder with a 1/8 th line

Sanded and buffed ,get the hood scoop put together tomorrow and we can bolt it on .
I should have bought one of these mini buffers a long time ago ,a spot to small for the big buffer or just to delicate and this thing gets right in there ,pretty good for coming from harbor Freight !

The turn signal lights are mounted in the scoop ,they will be functional . Also mounted the scoop grill.
The wires for the scoop is mounted in the hood along with the windshield washer squirters and the hood pin plates on the front of the hood ,the scoop can be mounted tomorrow and the hood bolted on the car ,this is going to look cool !
