the vents look freaking AWESOME (or will when you finish). I liked the second design too - however the grill mesh you use (used on the last car too) always kills memakes it look like something you'd buy off ebay.

Nope, All of your photoshop, and all of my metal crafting netted me w/ a fail on the mikey-likey chart.
** Epilogue I spent all day cutting the gills apart, and inserting in 5/8" spacers between and I hated it. Doing that caused the gills to lose their knife edge, which was one of the things I liked about the original design.
So I spent the rest of the day cutting that junk back off, and returning them to the way they are pictured already.
If I had a rowboat, I'd be paddling in a circle.
Im with Arnold (1990coupe). Second design would have been acceptable, but I too am digging this last one the most by far. Yet again your desire to be unique, and "do it twice (more like 4-5 times) Mike" has given you immortality among we mere mortals.
Not gonna lie, you have me REALLY wanting to take that Porsche style scoop and have it molded into the side of my S197. I feel it would fit nicely, and be different than the normal side scoops everyone sticks on. Similar to Saleen's old scoops on the new edge.

Well according to my scientific testing, I've been able to determine that the angle of the fin itself will disturb the air flow enough to direct it into the opening.I really enjoy seeing the evolution of the side scoops. It's a shame it's not something you could do with clay until you get a final shape. Every iteration means more hours in the garage for you. You're an artist Mike. It's just rough when your medium is metal.
I just hope that a flat design will be able to pull enough air in. The lack of a scoop may make it a little more difficult. You almost need to create a negative pressure like a cowl induction hood does.
Try a leaf blower standing at the front of car and shoot air along the body...... you should feel air through the vent at different leaf blower speeds...
