Fox 1984 5.0 EGR & Emissions

I recently just replaced my valve and solenoid… wasn’t too expensive. Could just replace it all. I’m speaking from a 1990 perspective don’t know if it’s that simple for the 1986.

So my 1984 5.0 didn’t pass emissions due to the EGR valve not opening or closing at all I’m looking for a diagram for the vacuum lines for it or any ideas of what’s going on?
If it's like an 85, there is only 1 vacuum going to it. The line runs along the rear middle fender well area and goes into a T vacuum tree that's screwed against that rear fender well. You can then trace it to the driver side area. It's most likely probably a gummed up EGR or the EGR sensor. Either way, remove the EGR (2 bolts), unplug the sensor and then you can fully remove EGR and clean it and replace the EGR sensor if you want to.

Guessing your 84 is very similar to my 83... These cars are an engineers nightmare ( pre computer) with the vacuum lines and valves telling what to work when... Get the book shown above by 85 GTstanguy off of Ebay... I use mine more than the FS manuals I have....
I removed all of that from my car when I installed the Explorer " P " headed engine... No loons in charge of the DMV in florida .....
