1987 5.0ho to old c4

not 65 c4 but the next newer. im told i need a different torque converter and bellhousing to fit the flywheel to my c4. i also need a thinner fan or outside electric fan, where can i get these for cheap?! thanks in advance

what motor is the c4 off of??? if its off of a 289/302...the torque convertor and bellhousing are fine....you wont need a thinner fan when putting the 5.0 in...and you'll need a 50oz 157 tooth conversion flywheel.

Did the 5.0 donor car have an AOD? Either way you need a new flywheel and TC as has been said, possibly a new block plate and starter too.

New electric fans are not cheap, if you do find one cheap there's probably a reason for it. However the junkyards are literally full of them, I'd buy a salvaged electric fan before spending a dime to make the mechanical one fit.

If you have the newer style C4 and a post 1980 302 then you will need the 164 tooth 50 oz. One from the AOD 302 will work. If you have a Pre 1980 then get the AOD 351.

Here is a chart. The Flat and Dish is how they looked to me as they related to the crank.
