1989 Bronco as donorcar.

Want to swap to EFI in my 1970 Mustang with original 302 2V engine, and I was thinking of using complete 5.0 engine and efi from 1989 Bronco 4x4.

Will the engine and efi fit in my mustang or will there be any issues with hood clearens or other things?

Is there any other parts that I can use, thinking of AOD trans and rear axle?

I know Bronco isn't the best donor car but it's the easiest for me to get?
Have looked everywhere but i can't find any good info about this swap.

Hope there is someone out there with a little info about this.

The truck intake will be too tall and the axle will be too wide.

Im not an expert but the EFI, intake ect. from an 80s mustang should swap to your current 302. Try searching for this.

IIRC, just the upper half of the truck intake is different - tuned for more low-end torque. The lower intake, fuel injectors and rails should all work - just find a Mustang 5.0 upper intake and throttle body.

Of course, you can also simply bolt on your '70 intake and carburetor just to get it running while you sort out the EFI. I'm not sure if the Bronco's wiring harness and ECU are good candidates for an EFI transplant; most guys who make their own EFI wiring harnesses use a Fox Mustang harness as a starting point. I'm certain it could be done, though, with a Bronco wiring diagram as your guide.

Perhaps someone here knows the answer to this... were those Broncos set up with a Mass Air EFI configuration, or was that model running a Speed Density system?

The truck upper and lower intake are different from the Mustang's. The lower was used with the Holley uppers though. (and maybe one other aftermarket upper intake) The Bronco rear, while too wide and will need narrowing, will likely be a trac-loc rear and will have 31 spline axles. The AOD will work as long as it's divorced from the transfer case. Mass-air didn't appear in the trucks til the 94 model year.
