I just wanted to mention (this will be my last post on this for this week, i promise) but last year Cutler was in his 1st full year as a starter, playing with undiagnosed diabetes (lost 20-30lbs) behind an injury depleted OL and missing Javon Walker for most the year.

Given all that, I think we can all agree he exceeding expectations for a 2nd year player.

Ok....on to week 2!

I don't know if he's exceeding expectations or not but he is doing excellent as a 2nd year QB. Maybe he will be good enough to make the kind of impact that will turn Denver around from a 7-9 season to say...10-6 this year. That would be outstanding. Most QB's we consider to be among the best have taken years to develop. Cutler is ahead of the curve.

You may be in a similar situation to what I went through. When the Giants got Eli, he was the best QB the Giants have had since Simms. Cutler is the best QB Denver has had since Elway. Eli won the Superbowl MVP in his 3rd full season. I won't try and place him in the same class as his brother or Brady though.

Relax and enjoy what could become a long run with a fine QB. Very few teams have good QB's. And they do make a BIG difference in wins and losses.

Wow, the Steelers just don't get it.. Last year it was the big garauntee that they were going to beat the Pats, then New England kicked the crap out of them.

Now, this year.. look what they decided to create to sell as a shirt

For the Steelers sake I seriously hope Big Ben doesn't have any nagging injuries when they play the Pats.

That is classless, distasteful and pathetic.. when you have to root for other teams star players to go down that shows you are a puss and have no confidence in your team..

The pats have to play SD this year and I wish merriman and brady were both playing. whats the point of a half assed victory over a wounded half strength opponent

Here is exactly what with happen if the steelers or colts or what ever team beats up on them..

(fan of team X) "HAHAHAH we smoked you"

( svttech76 or redline, jason or any other pats fan) " brady is on the IR"

and because of that we don't care, we expect to loose so what is the point there is not bragging rights in that.. A hollow victory at best.. and if for some reason the pats win me,redline or any other pats fan will laugh at your team. In fact there is MORE pressure to beat the pats this year since now teams like the jets are favored.

Ok guys, I took a night to sleep on it and I wanted to come out and make some apologies. Things got heated, which is normal for football discussions, but at times it definetly crossed the line and both sides said some things that shouldn't have been said. I still stand by my opinions I posted about the teams, but apologize for things getting so heated.

So for my part in that, I apologize to Redline, Jason, SVTTech and whoever else got caught in the crossfire. I'm sorry guys.

A few of us got a little carried away, hopefully we can put that behind us and look forward to week 2...and hopefully the injury bug stays away this week.

No problem I was being a jerk in my first post on the subject the one about permits to post.

We can disagree but next time hopefully we can both be adults about it.

Source saying the Steelers created said shirt? Pretty sure it is an idiot trying to make money, NOT the Steelers organization.

Exactly. I don't expect them to beat the Chargers, Colts, or Squeelers.

I saw it on NFL Network earlier today, not sure if they said the Steelers organization created it or not, but it is being sold on Steelers apparel websites. I won't say they are making it, but I have no idea

I just thought it was stupid/ignorant/inconsiderate to do that. I can understand the "Brady is a Bitch" shirts at Indy and the "I hate Peyton.. and Eli sucks too!" shirts in Boston because they play each other all the time and it's a big rivalry, but you don't see any shirts hoping for the other star QB's to go down with a bad injury. I don't wish Peyton would get hurt because that would be bad for the league and I don't root for him by any means, but I do have a lot of respect for him.

I am a huge Steelers fan, and I have a huge amount of respect for Brady and what he has done. I was sick to my stomach when the said he was out for the year. I don't want my Steelers to play a Brady-less team. Get your facts straight, there was no guarantee.

For the record it isn't the Steelers that made it or that are selling it. It is some fan site I've never heard of.

I agree with bluffing.

1. it was not the steelers that sponsored this or made these shirts, I am sure just about anybody in the steelers organization would find those horrible.

2. it was one player that guaranteed a win.. and that was not really a guarantee..... it was taken a little out of context that player who was trashed by the media and the patriots on the field I kind of felt bad for, what he really meant was he guaranteed his team would play hard and he felt like they could win..

I would not want a player on my team who did not think he could perform well and win.

Also one last thing I want to say any team that has fans is going to have a percentage of idiot yahoo fans,I am sure there are plenty of ******* pats fans out there that would be happy if manning or big ben went down..

Personally I find that repulsive and a lot of time it has to do with more than on the field stuff, anytime you make millions of dollars a year and bang super models you will have haters.

That seems like a guarantee to me

But, I would hate to see any of the great QB's go down. Roethlisberger (spelling?), Favre, Manning, etc.

The month of September will for now always be remembered for two things.

September 11th 2001- The day the twin towers fell

September 7th 2008- The day Tom Brady fell

I still dislike the steelers even though I don't believe they are responsible for that picture.

That isn't saying they will win no doubt about it. It says if they can perform on both sides of the ball they will win. Which is true of any team. If you can shut another teams Offense down and score points, you will win.

Good job on taking it out of context though!

+1.. As I said, I had no idea who made that shirt.

I didn't take that out of context. I pulled the quote where he used the word guarantee.

Gotcha. I shall now drop the subject for the better of the thread. Can't have any more arguments begin over useless stuff.

I said this before but it's worth repeating. When a team loses 1 or more key starters, the victory against them is just not as sweet. Bragging rights are lost. Yes, a win is important but there's always the "It would have been different if <fill in the name> was playing."

how was osi hurt?

The Planes hit the towers, Pollard hit Brady, didn't Osi just trip on one of the white lines?

I agree with that 100%. Just like the Eagles game last year when the Pats played them; It was nice to get the W, but I wish McNabb had been playing.

I can't remember, but Osi was pass-rushing Favre and something happened right before he fell, I think.
