Gotta agree, there was a blatant hold that wasn't called. I was screaming about it before the play was over. It was 3rd and 5 with a 1:15 left when the play started, watch #66 of the G-Girls hold onto the defender the entire play.

Yeah #66 was the really obvious hold.. who knows maybe the refs did not see it.. at least I hope it was that.

I don't see how they (G-Girls fans) say it wasn't a hold.

It was a hold but the fact that the Patriots O Line forgot how to block for 60 mins didnt help

worst thing you can ever do after the game is over is complain and make excuses for the loss by blaming the refs or a missed call. YOU LOST get over it.

They pulled out of more then one game in the 4th quarter where they were behind and won...Eagles, Ravens for example. That's gone back for the past previous seasons, its called knowing how to win and doing what must be done to win. No it does not always work out that way but it was not all "luck" that they came back from many games and won and more then once last season to go 16-0. Luck is catching a ball on the side of your helmet and not having it hit the ground or fall off the side of the helmet. Being lucky is having a very tall receiver on your roster matched with a QB that has a perpetual problem of throwing high balls.

The catch was luck..

I fail to see how having a "Tall reciever" on your team is also luck. Also what makes you think he has this perpetual problem? what if his intentions are to throw it up high out the the reach of defenders in an area where he knows burress can ****** it? Last time i checked its what you'd want to do? If he can catch a ball thrown high, and away from defenders it sounds like he's doing his job putting the ball in an area where only the reviever has access

Strahan wont come out of retirement so you can put that little glimmer of hope out.

You know its never good when they cant walk off the field them selves but I didn't even expect him to be gone for the year. Not looking good for the Giants and the season has not even started. Their #1 defensive player is GOOOOOOONNNNNEEEEEEE

Man, I haven't been on here in a long time.

Can't believe Osi is gone for the year.. I'm extremely happy he won't be able to help the Giants, but it sucks to see a guy like that go out for the year by getting hurt in a meaningless game.

Now that he won't be there, I think the Giants will drop both games against Dallas and at least 1 of the games against Philly and 1 against the 'Skins. It's a tough division.

Merriman gone for the year possibly?.. Thankfully! Now I can rest a little easier when it comes time for the week 6 matchup.

The Giants announced Osi will miss the whole season.
Kiwi will have to be moved back to DE.

Strahan would be nuts to come out of retirement, imo. He went out on top.. beating an undefeated team (what would've been considered the greatest team in history had they won that game). And if he came back, it'd be to a somewhat depleted defense and he'd get even more attention from the O-lines (reduced stats) since Osi wouldn't be out there. I have no doubt he's still got every bit of physical ability to play and would still be one of the best DE's in the league, but I think he should stay retired and just watch from afar.

Plus, we'd have a double-standard if he decided to make a comeback because of all the trash talk from people bashing Favre for coming back but prob wouldn't say **** about Strahan.

Jason, I think it's all about the money. Strahan has a number, the Giants have one too. I don't think they will be able to pay him. Plax & Jacobs want new contracts. Maybe even Pierce. They have to pay the guys they want to keep around now.

Believe me, if Strahan offered to come back for a decent price, the Giants would resign him in a heartbeat.

I forgot Plax hasn't gotten his contract he's been wanting. I think the NFL network said they've got around $12 million left before the cap, so I would imagine they'd have a little bit of space to work in a nice deal for Strahan if he really was up for coming back. I had also forgotten about the stuff that had gone on before he announced his retirement.. seems like it's been more than a couple months.

I don't doubt one bit that they'd sign him back without thinking twice if he offered to come back. A lot of what i've heard is that he'd possibly return for $8 or $9 million.

Its a really hard division and when you take out Strahan and Osi it makes things much more easy for the other teams. By them playing Dallas, Philly and Washington twice I dont see them coming out of that situation to well this time around. The Giants defense took much of the pressure off the offense. Now its going to be up to the offense to make up for things the defense wont be able to do as well. Can they? Can Eli? We'll see...I have my doubts.

When you have two guys that are as good as Strahan/Osi it makes them both better b/c you cant double team both. While I agree Strahan has all the ability to come back and play the way he went out he wont be as effective w/ out Osi there with him.

BTW: Good to see you back for another season
