Bad experiences with all of the parts house brands are all over this board and others. I have never run anything but a Motorcraft due to all of the threads with issues with the non-OEM units.
Now I understand that Motorcraft ones are more expensive and had to find but they work. I’m sure some of the aftermarket ones have worked but I don’t trust them.
STock one lasted for 34 years or so.... I would think a new one would work fine..
I installed a powerbond on my Explorer engine rebuild and it seems like a great unit so far..
