The original owner probably figured, "Heck it's a Shelby, I'll buy this car for $50K, put a few miles on it, enjoy the hell out of it, and sell it in 15 years for a small profit"

His wife is probably constantly reminding him of is poor finanical decession. I can hear it now.........."You stupid jackass....you spent $50K on a car that you drove 18 times in 15 years and you dumped it for $25K.
