I've replaced the sterio in my 94 mustang gt/cobra swap, i broke the damn panel that covers the 6x8's in the rear window, nothing at the local junkyards and cant seem to find one online, maybe im not using the proper term when searching? Also, when i bought the car the previous owner swapped the 6x8's for 6x9's in the rear window and drilled new holes for them, im going back to the 6x8's, is there a plastic piece that goes inbetween the metal and the original 6x8 speaker like in the front doors, or do they just mount to the metal deck? Any help on these 2 matters would be appreciated.

i replaced the speakers in my 95. IIRC they screw directly to the metal of the deck. i also bought a spare "rear deck" just to have as back up. i bought mine on ebay. look up mustang rear deck. theres a few on there right now, especially on the second page. hope this helps, good luck

As far as changing the speakers: If you care about the sound quality, I'd highly suggest bolting up a plywood baffle with some 6" or 5 1/4" component speakers there instead. Or at least mounting the 6x8s to a wood baffle. The factory metal and plastic up there just rattles and leaks like crazy.
