So I recently bought a 95 Mustang 5.0 with a 5 speed at a public auction. When I got it, it wasn't running due to a bad fuel pump. Now I've already replaced the fuel pump and it's runs now but rough and shuts off sometimes however If i keep my foot off the gas then it's fine. I did notice that a cable that goes to the throttle is broken. Could this be the issue? If not then what?

That's your cruise control cable. If your engine is running rough: Try the simplest first: Get some MAF cleaner from Autozone and clean your MAF, Check your plugs and wires. If your wires are bad you can see them arching to metal in the dark. Check your cap and rotor for corrosion change if worn out. Still no go then change your fuel filter. next check your vacuum lines to the EGR, Fuel pressure regulator, line to the charcoal canistor on the passenger side of engine bay. Those lines rot out and cause vacuum leaks thus letting in too much air in to the intake causing rough idleing. Good luck!
