Thanks, I remember "hissin cobra" had a 79 cobra and put up pics of the low door handles, I didn't remember the year spread.

Yeah the early years had the down low. But some mid 80's doors that had them up high, still had the provision down low for them. Not sure exactly what year Ford redesigned the inner structure.

I posted in that site too. That guy did a good job on the dash, but he didn't cut it like I did. I cut more off, so I don't have the door handle issue. He did an excellent job on the door panels. I don't have that kind of patience.
