96-97 GT's have 215 HP 285 TQ. 98's have 225 HP and 295 TQ. The difference is a more aggresive computer tune in the 98. Either one is a dog until you do the PI headswap or toss a 4v in there

I don't see how you can call a 98 without a headswap a dog. I run a vortech with 10 psi and i am sure i would dog you. I know they aren't the fastest car stock but i really like my 98.
