Hey all, Has any one done this swap? I see lots of pics in mags and on the net. Wondering about K-members and wiring harness??? Or any other advice on problems you ran into???

Thanks

Thanks, I saw that one. Its not really a very active sight anymore? I thought there might of been some advances or some tricks figured out since those cars were done?

Alternative auto has a blown terminator motor with the stock Eaton on it in a coupe running high nines. Do a google search and you could probably find their website.

not wortth the money and effort. personally I would rather just put the cash into a 99+ blown cobra.

Any blown modular engine in a fox is going to be expensive.
It's a very cool project, but it's also commonly underestimated.
Count on spending 10g's minimum.
IMO, not worth it unless you are doing a built shortblock or 03 cobra conversion.
And just so you are aware, if you toast a dohc shortblock with boost, it will be insanely expensive to fix, especially if it's aluminum, god damn thing takes $500 in arp bolts and $200 in head gaskets, and you haven't even started on the labor or pistons and rods.

The modular fox site is still active, just remember this swap is not all that common, there is millions of guys with 5.0 foxes, but a minimum number of guys with foxes with dohc engines.
So it moves along at a snails pace.
Rember it's one small site with 1 purpose, where's if bigger forums deal with all types of stuff.

Hey thanks very much for the heads up and the info!!! I should of told you guys why I am doing this swap....... I'm just finishing up on another nutty swap(put a 2002 Powerstroke and 6sp in a 1978 CC 4x4) and kinda like doing it!!! Yes it can be punishing and $$$$$ but there is a WOW factor and a what the hell factor that is just dam cool!!!! You should see people when I go by em in a big white, flamed out, '78 Ford F350 crewcab 4x4 blowing black smoke and the turbo screamin!!!!! Millions of us have nice stangs, only a handfull have a DOHC in one! I just like to be a little different!

Don't get me wrong, i totally agree with doing it just be weary of your budget, best bet is a 2003/4 cobra engine, too bad complete with trans you are looking at 7500, then you still need to drop a grand on the fuel setup, and then another grand on misc stuff.

A built aluminum shorblock out of an older cobra is going to run 3g's alone, then expect to pay 3000 for a supercharger, and then another 500 at least to assemble, on top of buying the engine for 2500 or so.
Try modularfords.com, then goto the modular conversions section.
