2.3L n/a swap to 302//Any advice?

do a search for "5.0L conversion" and "5.0L swap" and "v8 swap" and "v8 conversion" that should get you pointed the right direction. The fundamentals of the swap consist of the engine, tranny, and motor mounts. All that will get it bolted in, the rest is to broad to expand on.

i've heard the tranny does not need to be replaced with a 302

whether it need replacing or not, you might want to, cuz the stock trans for a 2.3 wont be able to take 225hp and 300ft lbs of torque for very long.

also look into upgraded brakes, 8.8 rearend, as well as a long list of other things

yeah jason fletchers site is good. The a4ld auto tranny blows gonads, take a sledge hammer and take soem anger out by beating the tranny. Find a t5, the standard 5 speed tranny can handle mild street use. The 7.5 as well, I had a windsor with a 7.5 and didnt break anything, although I had no traction so there wasnt much drivetrain stress. The brakes I had on my windsor had air in the lines so bad the pedal would nearly hit the floor, it still stopped awsomely. The windsor has about 70-100 lbs on the 302 and I still had 4 banger springs and it still rode better than any car ive driven. And SHE HAULED ARSE! If you want to run a t5 from a 4 banger you need the v8 flywheel and clutch.
