So I'm still trying to find a reputable mechanic to rebuild my 2.3T I purchased to ensure that its in good working order. I have almost no time to work on the damn thing.

While I'm waiting I'd still like to do some performance mods to my current 2.3. I purchased the vehicle with almost all the emissions stuff taken out (my county actually has no emissions test required) it has an adjustable cam timing gear (which I dont understand how to use) and a nice set of headers with no emissions stuff hooked on, going down to a pipe with no catalytic converter.

Some people said a good place to start is to upgrade my fuel pump and my fuel injectors, but I wonder what to upgrade them to? Also I heard that installing a new camshaft will improve things also. But what camshaft to buy? I'm a pretty good mechanic when things break in my car, but I no close to nothing about performance stuff.

I like my N/A engine a lot since I've spent so much time with it. Although I am considering buying a 5.0 Mustang if you know anyone that wants to trade let me know.

If you have no time to rebuild the turbo engine, how do you have time to work on your car?

Anyway...I would say save your money and spend it on the 2.3 turbo. A cam will do next to nothing on your engine but it will do good things on the turbo engine. I know when I swapped in my Motorsport A237 it was a big difference.

Same with injectors.

That's my recommendation anyway.
