2 questions about my foglights on my 92 vert

For some reason when I turn on my fog lights.....after about 10 minutes. My headlights and fog lights cutoff. To get my headlights back on I have to turn off both then turn back on my headlights to get them back on. Any idea why this happens?

Also is there a way to get my fog lights to turn on independantly of my headlights? Anyone else done this?

the wiring or connector is faulty, and its a common problem that the fog lights cut out the headlights. If you just dont run the fog lights, everything should be fine.
I was actually wondering myself if there was a fix, one time I heard if you used better wire to the fog lights? I am not sure.
Yes, you could make the fog lights be independant, but that would require you redoing how they are connected. They are made to work only with low beams. They are as names, to see through the fog. Theoretically Ford says you should only be using them to see 'under' then fog with. They also do not work with your high beams, as you should not be using high beams in the foghttp://forums.stangnet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
:nice:

at least your lights just turn off temporarily. mine melted the whole ****in foglight/headlight switch, this was before I knew of this problem. Id do the corral fix now before its too late. Its much easier to do without haveing to pick through burned wires. trust me on this one.

thanks, I think I will make this my weekend project...Maybe install some white face gauges while I am there too....

Thanks for the heads up bubba.

For a second I thought I was trippin when the lights shut-off....glad to know this was something documented.
