The time has come to either rebuild the 1v carb on my wife's '67 vert (200 c.i. I6) or buy a new 2v carb for it. I'd like something with electric choke and that will give her a little more power.

Can anyone recommend a good 2v carb w/ electric choke for this engine?

there are two ways to get a 2v carb on your 200;

1: get an adaptor available from stovebolt engine co.(yes a gm parts sight but the adaptors and carbs work on fords also) and use an h/w 5200 carb.

2: take the head off and have it modified to allow you to bolt on a 2100 autolite or 2300 holley carb.

the adaptor is cheaper to do. the other thing you can do is adapt the carter one bbl carb from a mid 70's granada with a 250, or from a ford truck with the 240/300 six.

Thanks for the info - I happen to have an Autolite 2100 from my '68 302 laying around. I think I'll give the adapter a try

if you want to adapt the 2100 autolit to the log head, contact www.fordsixparts.com as they have an adaptor that should work. it will still require machining the head though. to my knowledge there is no adaptor that will let you bolt a 2100 autolite to the log head. the clifford and stovebolt adaptors bolt a 5200 holley/weber carb to the log head.

I found too, that some of the early econolines had a larger bore Autolite installed. I think I have one that I used for a 200 in my garage. I'll check it out and get back to you with the specifics. I remember it gave a bit more hp to my 200.
