2000/01 T45 in a 98 GT how to make it work?

Hey folks...just wondering if anyone had any ideas on making a 00/01 T45 work in a 98 Gt....the Speedo drive is different on the newer trans..its magnetic pick-up vs gear drive on the older one. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Trans bolts up and everything...just the speedo is totally useless and driving..the odometer looks like a slot machine spinning. Thanks folks for any help you can give.

I had the same issue when I put my T-45 in.
I used an Extended Range SpeedCal from DallasMustang.
I just cut the wires of the regualr one I had in there, for my 4.10s, and then plugged it in with the new one.

If you dont have one yet, it is a pretty easy install.

Can you elaborate on that? My motor is going out in my car and i'm about to upgrade it to a PI motor, and the trans is going out too.. So i'm also gonna upgrade that to, since I can get a decent deal on the complete motor and trans setup..

What i'm understanding is, you just got a Speedcal from Dallas Mustang and hooked it up according to there instructions? And the 99+ Transmission workin your 98 car?

Not sure what it would take exactly to make it work, but its probably not too overwhelming. I really dont understand why you would want to put in a T-45 though. If I ever swap my tranny it will be something like a TKO600 or a T56. If the trans goes it goes, but I'm not gonna put another T45 in my car.
