Can anyone help?
I have a 2000 GT with 85K miles on it. The clutch was in bad shape so I had a backyard mechanic install a new SPEC stage 1 clutch with new Cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster. Ive been driving it for a couple of weeks but I think something may be wrong. If I try to launch above 3K rpm it squeaks and sounds like its slipping. I then push in the clutch and a burnt up clutch smell fills the car within seconds. As long as I launch at less than 3K this problem doesnt occur.
Could it be possible that the clutch is installed improperly? Or does it just need more time to be broken in .. or adjusted ??
